shot throughout the first eight months of 2019, these are all pictures
of my close friends (with the exeption of one stranger). every image here shows an attempt,
internally, to push myself out of my photographic comfort zone.
in the simplest of terms, i have never really shot people before. it has always been an invisible
barrier. i had always wanted to seriously photograph people, but quite honestly,
i had never been brave enough to try.
every photo here is shot with my grandfather's yashica mat twin lens reflex. it was the perfect gift,
a camera that forces the photographer to get close to the subject. that closeness is what this
project is really all about, as well as a very personal reminder of my own limitations both
behind the camera and in life more generally.
